Wasim Akram Sleeveless sweater, worn in the World Cup final, 1992
John Crace was researching his book on Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis during 1992 and was lucky enough to be invited to travel with the Pakistan team throughout the World Cup. While Waqar was sadly injured, Wasim turned out to be the star of the final; wickets in consecutive balls – the latter referred to as `the perfect example of reverse swing’ – turned the game just as England looked to have established winning momentum.
