Bodyline was the zenith of Larwood’s career as a bowler. But a broken foot sustained during the series robbed him of his extra pace and the controversy surrounding his bowling left him feeling embittered and betrayed by English cricket. In 1950 he emigrated to Australia where his former adversaries welcomed him and his family. Larwood was offered honorary M.C.C. Membership in 1949, but he rarely returned to England. He used this pass when attending the 1980 Centenary Test at Lord’s. It is signed by him and his fast-bowling partner Bill Voce.
