Each racquet loop glazed to frame photographs of the contestants; T. Pettitt's racquet stamped: Brouaye. Carved scroll painted white over intersection, inscribed in red and black: These racquets were used by/ G. Lambert, England, and T. Pettitt, U.S.A./ in the Championship of the World/played at Hampton Court Place/in May, 1885. On the blocks of the racquets are inscribed respectively: G. Lambert/England, and T. Pettitt,/U.S.A.
