Over life size bronze sculpture of a bowler. Full outstretched, leaning forward and balancing on left foot.
Sculpture Commission
London-based public sculptor Antony Dufort was commissioned by MCC's Arts & Library Committee to sculpt a statue of a bowler to complement Gerald Laing's Batsman figure sculpted in 2001. Both sculptors were briefed not to depict a particular player, but rather to draw inspiration from a range of players. The sculptures can be seen at the corners of the Nursery Ground here at Lord's.
