The blazer previously sold at the MCC Bicentenary auction of April 1987, lot 604. Allen attended Cambridge University in 1922 and 1923 where he gained a blue in each year

A Cambridge University cricket club blazer of pale blue wool by Sidney Smith of Cambridge, said to have been worn by Gubby Allen. The blazer previously sold at the M.C.C.
