Chisel used by Leonard Dowse in the making of cricket bats. Wooden handle with wide blade and brass ferrule. The tang has a large moulded collar that covers the end of the ferrule. Wooden handle heavily damaged from use. Collar makes blade appear to be socketed, as if the handle is fitted inside the blade, rather than the opposite way round.
