Ball with which H.W. Fellows took ten wickets for the Gentlemen v Players, July 23rd and 24th 1849, at Lord's. No legible maker's mark. An amateur, Harvey Fellows (1826-1907) played for Oxford University (1854-1857) and M.C.C (1847-1969) as a middle order batsman and round arm fast bowler. He was considered to be the fastest bowler that had ever appeared in 1848 and 1849, though his pace subsequently slackened.
