Silver casket containing silk scoresheet of 1st test match played at Kanpur, 12/1/1952
Presented by H H Maharajkumar, Dr Vijaya of Vizianagram to the English/MCC touring team in India 1951-1952
Casket enclosing score sheet, M.C.C. Tour of India 1951-1952; 4th Test Match at Kampur, United Province Cricket Association. Silver with (?) gold, enclosing silk score sheet, mounted on a wooden plinth enamelled black, decorated silver. Design: the casket is cylindrical, one of the two similar ends detaching to form a lid. It is decorated with geometric and floral motifs. A flat central plaque is engraved: As a token of remembrance of the /Marylebone Cricket Club's/visit/to Kampur/U.P. - India/for the 4th Test/January 12th, 1952/Vizzy/ President/U.P.C.A. The Casket is held by two silver posts on top of the plinth. The plinth is decorated on the face with silver maps of India and England, on which rubies mark Kampur and England respectively. Between the maps is attached the metal badge of the United Province Cricket Association.
