Oxford University 'The Oxford Silver Racquet' real tennis racquet, 1902-1903. Won in 1903 by C.H. Wild. In own display case, with two old balls. Ash, lime and sheepgut. Mounted silver, velvet grip. Birmingham hallmark, 1902 including maker's initials: H.J. Racquet maker's stamp on loop: Nusser; London. The stringing is straight forward, without loops. The block is stained crimson and inscribed in gold: Oxfor[d]/1903. The dark blue hand grip is fitted, not wound and is finished off at either end in silver.
