This clasp was fitted to 'Ade's New Champion Belt'. E. Ade produced it to commemorate the English Cricketers' visit to N. America but it was later advertised as commemorating also the first English Tour of Australia, 1861-1862.

America; above is a laural spray, beneath the inscription: 'England's Champions'. Backstamp: E. Ade, London; lozenge-shaped registration mark for the date 1860 and another registration mark.
