Dark green single-breasted, lined blazer with embroidered left breast pocket and three brass coloured buttons to front and cuffs. 'Pakistan Tour to India 1952'. Likely made as anniversary of 1st Pakistan test Tour to India
In recent years the MCC Museum has had considerable success in acquiring items relating to Indian cricketers, be it on loan or permanently donated. Items relating to Pakistani cricketers have been rather harder to come by, however. One of the principal aims of this exhibition is to encourage potential donors and lenders to come forward, so that a cricketing nation which has produced so many of the game’s most exciting and innovative players can adequately be represented in a collection devoted to the game of cricket wherever it is played.
Blazer modelled on that for the Pakistan tour of India, 1952
This blazer is identical in style to those produced for Pakistan’s first full Test tour in 1952. However, due to its construction and condition, it is thought likely to be a later reproduction – perhaps produced for an anniversary - based upon the original design.
