Australian teams were treated with similar opprobrium by their national press and cricket-loving Prime Minister Bob Hawke branded them `traitors’. South African Kepler Wessels joined the second of the two tours having played in Australia since World Series Cricket in 1977. Omar Henry became only the second non-white player to represent South Africa when he played against the tourists in 1986-/87.
