Pottery tile depicting a batsman (Fuller Piltch) c1840. Design by James Thorpe, modelled after a lithograph by James Lillywhite. Blue on white, corners trimmed off.
Design: within a circle of 4 1/4 ins diameter, is a drawing of a batsman at the wicket, wearing a top hat and braces, in a rural setting, with a windmill on the horizon. Decoration in each of the top two spandrels is a ball and in the lower two a bat.
