Spliced wood handle, sprung with single wood insert. Straight blade, very indistinct swell. Worn toe. Damage to toe and shoulder. Maker’s marks on face and head of handle.
Bat of Thomas Hearne, 1861-1862. Used during the first English tour to Australia, 1861-62. Made by Cobbett.
