Pair of boots, with white, synthetic leather uppers with blue overlapping trim, padded at ankle. Rubber, moulded ‘Gel’ sole. Laced with six eyelets, and two Velcro straps. Four ‘Asics’ studs in heel and seven in sole. Both heels signed by player. Toe of left boot removed and finished with tape.

This style of bowling boot shows extra support around the ankle, use of lightweight materials and a generous sole to cushion the impact of the foot on the ground. Additionally the toe of the boot has been removed by Gough, a modification made by several of his contemporaries to avoid the pain caused by their toes repeatedly hitting the front of the boot.
