China plate, Commemorating W.G. Grace's Century of Centuries 1866-1895. Coalport china, white underglaze, rim has irregular indentations; rococco design in three repeats. Decoration: in green and gold: photogravure portrait of Dr. Grace framed with a laural wreath, the clasp at the top bearing his name. Raying out from the centre are ninety wickets and ten bats each bearing particulars of one of his centuries, framed with a border of balls, bails and laurel leaves; the rim embellished with gold scroll work.
