Description
Spliced, wood handle, Straight blade, indistinct swell. Worn toe on both sides. Maker’s marks on face. Cream label on face nme and date. Name on splice, reverse.
Bat belonging to Frederick George Brabazon Ponsonby (later 6th Earl of Bessborough), c.1860. In an earlier catalogue this bat is dated as 1890 but this is now thought to be incorrect. The Hon. G.F.B. Ponsonby was one of the joint founders of the I Zingari club, 1845. Made by W. Peacock.
