Isaac Walker was the youngest of seven brothers that had founded Middlesex and served in the county’s formative years as a player and administrator. He was also believed to be the finest bowler among the brothers, and W G Grace had claimed that he was ‘one of the finest amateur batsman I ever played with or against’.
