Description
Navy blue, single breasted, England blazer. Three pockets and three plain brass buttons. Worn by Alec Bedser in 1946. Embroidered, England crest on breast pocket, three lions and crown in silver thread with velvet.
This blazer was worn by Alec Bedser during his debut season as a Test cricketer in
1946. He made his Test debut at the age of 28 – it would surely have come much
sooner had it not been for the Second World War – but made an immediate impression,
taking 11 wickets in each of his first two Tests that summer.
