Half length, frontal portrait of Cowdrey. Wearing a navy blue MCC blazer, trimmed with scarlet and gold, with a St George and the dragon motif, embroidered on the left pocket. Behind him are framed black and white photographs documenting his achievements.

Seated in front of a series of black and white framed photographs documenting his career, former England player and administrator Colin Cowdrey is shown wearing his MCC jumper and England blazer.
In a career that lasted more than a quarter of a century, Colin Cowdrey became the first cricketer to play in 100 Test matches and held the record for the most runs by a batter and most catches by a fielder in Test cricket. He was the driving force behind the inclusion of the Spirit of Cricket as a preamble to the Laws (or rules) of cricket.
Post-war and British Contemporary artist Bryan Organ was an acclaimed society portraitist; he would study his subjects in motion over long lunches. On the canvas he stressed the normality of his sitters and built architectural backgrounds in paint to comment on their personalities, lives and achievements.
