Description
Black and white photograph covered by glass. Image shows two rows of gentlemen in suits and ties the front row are seated and hold raquets. In the foreground a memorial plaque is positioned reading 'on this lawn in 1872 the first lawn tennis club in the world was founded'.
The first visiting French team to the U.K. after World War II. French team consisted of ALVAREZ, ORAGO, CRUSE and DUPONT. Also in the group the three Pugh brothers Michael (seated centre), Geoffrey and Alec plus Henry Johns.
