Descripción
Gold coloured, stamped metal buckle of rectangular outline with squared corners. Depicting to centre founder of the school, Archdeacon Robert Johnson of the Diocese of Peterborough, with attendant pupils and the school motto to surround 'In Okeham et Uppingham in Com.Ruti. Sic Com Gubern Scholar et Hospiciorum'. Beige, cloth belt, mauve in places.
Uppingham School cricket. Rare mid to late 19c cricketer's belt and buckle. The brass /gilded metal buckle of rectangular outline with squared corners depicting to centre the founder of the school, Archdeacon Robert Johnson of the Diocese of Peterborough, with attendant pupils and the school motto to surround 'In Okeham et Uppingham in Com.Ruti. Sic Com Gubern Scholar et Hospiciorum'. Original clasps, bar and hook fasteners and D end hold the belt formerly mauve now sadly faded. Slightly bend to buckle otherwise in very good condition. Rare to see the original belt still attached to the buckle of a belt dating from around 1870-1880
