Brown leather suitcase with two compartments. Leather straps and divider inside. Maker's label on divider. leather handle and metal clasp. Initials ‘WGG’ stamped on face. Previously described as doctor's bag.
Travel in the early days of the cricket tour involved generic luggage unadapted to specific cricket equipment. Large heavy leather bags predominated in the first half of the twentieth century and Sir Len Hutton’s bag, painted in Yorkshire colours, was used for almost twenty years.
