Trap ball shoe, a device used to play trap ball or bat and trap, from Canterbury. Wood object shaped like a 17th century Puritan shoe a squared toe. Made from stained oak with a pivoted lever in the centre. The ball is placed in the depression in the ‘heel’ and tossed by pressing down on the lever. The player then strikes the ball with a short cricket bat shaped bat.
Trap-Ball is an old English game with roots in the 14th Century.
