Handwritten letter inviting the captain of Harrow Eleven, R J P Broughton to meet the Eton Eleven, captained by J C Ryle. Written in cursive style with dark ink turned brown with age. The address and three postage marks are on the left and the letter on the right. The Captain of the Eton Eleven presents his compliments to the Captain of the Harrow Eleven, and requests the pleasure of a meeting between the two Elevens, to play a match of cricket at Lord's on 31 July-2 August 1834.
