Eden Park has been the home of Auckland cricket since 1910 and also played host to rugby since 1925. The ground hosted its first Test match in 1930, with hundreds from England's KS Duleepsinhji and EH Bowley enlivening a rain-affected draw. Three years later, Wally Hammond made his Test record score of 336 not out here. In February 2005 Eden Park hosted the first ever Twenty20 International, in which New Zealand took on Australia. The shape of the ground is similar to a baseball diamond which often leads to a marked difference in boundary distances.
