Description
Photograph of the M.C.C. Team in Australia 1920-1921. Expedition to Church Point, Brisbane Water. Group taken on the occasion of a visit to the weekend retreat of Mr Frank Black, 'The Black's Camp', at Church Point about fourteen miles north of Manly Beach on the shore of Brisbane Water. Mr Black was at that time the General Manager of Shell Oil Company. Brisbane Water is a lovely stretch of calm water on the harbour side of Palm Beach, leading to Broken Bay Heads and the ocean. Part of the afternoon was spent exploring Brisbane Water in Mr Black's motor launch, but some of the guests preferred to rest or stroll. After tea the party motored back to Sydney. Photograph: Morgan, Squire (?).
