Left hand, wicket-keeping gloves. Cream, leather trank with perforations and fourchettes. Black, dimpled, rubber palm, Protection to digit ends and padding and cane inserts on cuff. White mesh on reverse, black leather strap and buckle. Maker’s label on cuff reverse.
Leonard Victor Maddocks. Victoria, Tasmania & Australia 1946-1968. Pair of Slazenger 'Coolback' cream wicket-keeping gloves worn by Maddocks during the Australian tour of England in 1956. Previously sold as lot 71 in the Boxhall's auction (Melbourne) of May 1999, lot 71. G.
