A large brown trunk belonging to Tony Lewis on his tour of India and Pakistan. Large label on the front of the trunk reads 'Tony Lewis Pakistan-India MCC Tour team'. Leather handle.Trunk has two metal fastner clips and a central lock and has mcc coloured tape runing down the left and right side of the trunk. Trunk is empty, leather straps inside trunk hold both parts together.

The `cricket’ coffin grew in popularity from the late 1970s, probably in response to increased amounts of protective equipment. Their increasingly bulky and solid composition suited international air travel as well as sponsorship which pervaded the game by the turn of the century.
