MCC Young Artist of the Year Andy Pankhurst was appointment to document in paint the 2002-03 England cricket tour to Australia. The result was an extensive portfolio of cricket matches, training sessions, as well as portraits of players.
Primarily known for his figurative studies, Pankhurst superbly captures the action on the pitch while carefully and creatively recording the characteristics of the Sydney Cricket Ground and city in the background.
