Piece of paper attached reads: M.C.C. v Camb[ridge] University/ June 25, 26, 27. 1896/ Record score for 4th innings of a match, 1st Class/ 507 for 7 wickets. This was inscribed by C.H. Hulls, Captain of the M.C.C. side. No legible maker's mark.
