Gill McConway was born in New Zealand but settled in the United Kingdom, making her Test debut in 1984 against the country of her birth. A left-arm spinner, McConway took 40 wickets in Tests at an average of 25.47. Her best bowling firgures of 42-27-34-7 came against India at Worcester in 1986.
