Description
Pen and ink drawing of a bowler. Head enlarged on a small body, has a thin wavy moustache and creases/wrinkles by the eye, slightly protruding teeth. Viewed from left hand side, left leg forward. Both hands holding ball near body. Title in block letters, signed and dated lower left edge. Newspaper cutting adhered to reverse. Stamped with date received ‘24th June 1950’

Mickey Durling was an artist who worked on the Sunday Empire News as a cartoonist in the 1950s. A series of football trade cards was issued by the paper in 1953 featuring caricatures by Durling
