Portrait of 15th Chief Executive & Secretary of MCC Derek Brewer, drawn from life over two days by British artist Rupert Alexander who adopts "life-size" and chiaroscuro methods as used by Italian Grand Masters, such as Caravaggio, who used dramatic light effects in his paintings.
Brewer played for Warwickshire 2nd XI, representing British Universities, and captaining Berkshire under-19's. He was Regional Director of Commercial Banking at NatWest before joining Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club as Chief Executive in 2005. At MCC he established a pioneering Local-to-Lord's community programme and directed the Club's Masterplan, which included the building of the new Warner stand.
