Cap of Colin Blythe, Tour to Australia and New Zealand 1901-2
Acquired at auction, 2016 M.2017.22
The tour was captained by AC Maclaren and underwritten by Melbourne CC after MCC declined to organise a side. Blythe was selected after he took more than 100 wickets in his second first-class season. Though injured on tour he still took 34 wickets at 20 as England won 4-1. The tour was also notable for the debut of Sydney Barnes, selected after his first performance for Lancashire.
