In a bad run of form Alan signed with Gola and this proved happily lucrative – more so than other contracts such as bats. These were the first model and were still uncomfortable as he continued to have problems with the sole.studs

Right shoe with white, leather uppers. Plastic soles and leather lining. Laced with seven eyelets. Four ‘Champ’ studs in heel and six studs and four nails in sole. Faint trace of maker’s branding under whiting.
