- DescriptionPaddle, or guitar, shaped cricket bat. Made in two parts, face and back. Spliced, cane handle with three rubber inserts. Red and black rubber grip. Red, black and white decals on both sides. Coaching bat that has been conceptualised, designed and researched by Bob Woolmer, Prof Timothy Noakes, Russell Woolmer and Habib Noorbhai. The purpose of the bat is to enhance the performance of junior cricket batsmen during training.

From an initial idea by Bob Woolmer, and in partnership with sports scientists, it aims to aid young players in hitting the ball more often, therefore gaining confidence and improving their skill. Part of the research was carried out in the extensive MCC bat collection, which holds approximately 400 bats.
