Description
Large leather cricket bag used by Hutton throughout most of his playing career, 1934-1955. Yellow and blue stripes denoting Yorkshire colours are painted to the sides of the bag. Red 'Pickfords Removals' Label attached to the handle bearing Hutton's name. Textile lining.
Display caption
Travel in the early days of the cricket tour involved generic luggage unadapted to specific cricket equipment. Large heavy leather bags predominated in the first half of the twentieth century and Sir Len Hutton’s bag, painted in Yorkshire colours, was used for almost twenty years.
