Herschelle Gibbs’ batting feats are perhaps best symbolised by his innings of 175 off 111 balls to lead South Africa to victory over Australia in 2006 in what was at the time the highest-scoring One Day International of all time. AB De Villiers debuted in the same match as Dale Steyn and has proved his equivalent as a batsman.
