MCC ‘A’ TOUR OF PAKISTAN, 1955-1956
Having won its most recent Test match in England, Pakistan was disappointed to learn that the next MCC side to visit the country would not be considered a Test level one. It was, nevertheless, a strong squad, featuring eleven players who had either played Test cricket already or would go on to do so. It was a team filled with youthful promise and exuberance, both of which would be on display in a tour described in the Daily Telegraph as ‘so happy in concept, so unhappy in its unfolding’.
