Description
Annotated watercolour sketch. View from the Grandstand with Media Centre on left and Pavilion on the right. Father Time directly in front. Painted during the Frizzell County Champions between Middlesex and Sussex, 2005. Inscription around edge: ‘Wednesday 17th August 2005. It’s the second day of the Frizzell County Championship between Middlesex and Sussex, and frustratingly for the home team Sussex are accumulating a lot of runs. I feel very privileged today as I have the whole of the Upper Grand Stand to myself and wow what a view. And with the warm and sunny weather I know I’d rather be up here than the poor batsmen down there [?] by the [?] opposition.’ Signed and dated lower right, Title lower left.
