The Melbourne Album, consisting of 24 lithographic prints of the Victorian scene, was first produced by Johannis Theodar Charles Trodel (better known as Charles Troedel), a young lithographic pressman and his friend Robert Wendel, lithographic artist, who migrated to Australia, arriving on February 5th, 1860. The Album was produced in 1863-4. It was reprinted in an edition limited to 2,000 copies at 5 gns each, by Troedel & Cooper Pty ltd., Melbourne to celebrate the centenary of the firm in 1961. This edition was edited by Clive Turnbull and contains letterpress describing the plates and additional text illustrations. Text illustration of cricket article :- W G Grace.
