Homemade bat carved from a coconut frond. Unspliced and crudely shaped. The bat splays gradually, without shoulders, from the handle down to its maximum width at the base. These bats are used by local boys in Jamaica in 'back yard' cricket, with a ball also made of a piece of coconut palm.
