Design: knife: angled blade with notch at hilt; handle is banded with silver and brass; sheath: shaped to fit knife, with brass point; pockets contain two subsidiary knives, also a pouch containing pieces of leather bound in by a detachable leather band. Mounted on the sheath is a silver plaque with engraved badge, inscribed: Gorkha Rifles/Presented to the M.C.C./by/Lieut. Colonel M.M. Ismail/& Gorkha Rifles/Nagpur, 28 Nov 61.
