Decorated jug with three action studies, in relief, of a batsman (? W.G. Grace) and five fielders, 1884. Stoneware jug, light brown, dark blue and white under blue (colbalt) salt-glaze; straight sided, tapering towards base. Decoration: six medallions frame sprigged on figures of cricketers - 3 of a batsman, bearded; 3 of a fielder, and 2 smaller fielders unframed; on a ground of blue glaze. Bead moulding around rim and base; handle composed of cricket gear. Marks impressed on base: Doulton/Lambeth (trade mark); 1884. The registration mark; ? bee; two small rectangles the script initials E W.
