Spliced cane replacement handle. Black rubber grip. Straight blade, very distinct swell. Worn toe. Maker’s marks to face. Signed with thirteen names in black ink. Silver shield pinned to reverse.

Albert Goodwill Spalding played Baseball for the Boston Red Stockings and was the first big-league pitcher to win 200 games. He retired in 1877 to become head of A.G. Spalding & Bros. a firm which manufactured sporting equipment and published the best-selling annual Spalding’s Official Baseball Guide.
