Doulton Lambeth, stoneware jug. Tapering cylindrical form. Caramel glaze with small, impressed floral pattern. Raised, chocolate brown bands and white beaded moulding to rim and foot. Handle modelled as a group of bats bound together with boots, ball and broad brimmed hat. Eight sprigged, white figures, six in medallions, three batsmen and five fielders. Maker’s marks on base: Doulton/Lambeth (trade mark); 1881. The registration mark; a small daisy; gg; rr; incised indistinct initials.
