Description
Ladies paper fan from the Eton vs. Harrow Match, 11th-12th July 1873. Wood frame, blue and white paper, gold lettering. Team names on front, advert for Eugene Rimmel, Perfumer by Appointment on reverse.
Display caption
This fan, signed by the players of both teams, was acquired by MCC from Douglas Jardine, who had himself received it from Rex Alston, later a famous cricket commentator on BBC radio, but at the time a schoolmaster at Bedford.
