Portrait of former Secretary MCC 1936 – 1952 Colonel
R.S. Rait Kerr sitting at a desk in the Committee Room of
the Lord’s Pavilion by Royal Academician John Ward.
Rait Kerr was awarded the Military Cross in 1917. As a
cricketer, he played in six first-class matches. Five of
these were for the Europeans in India between 1913 and
14 and 1920–21, he appeared for the Army against
Oxford University in 1931.
