Doulton Lambeth, stoneware tankard. Flared form. Caramel glaze with Art Nouveau floral decoration. Ribbed strap handle. Three, white sprigged images of cricketers based on the photographs of E. Hawkins and Co. of S M J Woods (bowler), M C Kemp (wicket keeper) and William Gunn (batsman); published in 'Famous Cricketers and Cricket Grounds 1885'. Maker’s marks on base: Doulton Lambeth England in lozenge shape and various artist’s marks, including RN; 169, incised ET. Owner's label: Pair of stoneware mugs [£11 the pair] 7187 Captain Robert's Collection
Auction catalogue lists figures as Woods, Able and Macgregor which is incorrect
